The first day of the three-week-long blockade of Nepal’s capital Kathmandu called by the Maoists saw very few vehicles playing on the otherwise busies highway of the country. The highway was heavily guarded by the Army. Here is the photo blog that captures some of the moments seen in the highway that links Kathmandu valley to the rest of the country.

After celebrating Holy, the festival of color, they are enjoying by cycling in the ‘traffic-less’ highway.

7 parties were planning a big demonstration agains KG’s rule. Now MBs are blocking highways? Actually they are blocking 7 parties. They did same before bombing Thankot and KG had an issue to clamp down curfew on the day of demonstration.
There are also other straight forward patterns of correlation (KARYAGAT EKATA) between KG and MBs. When KG in west MBs attack East or vice versa. Interesting to see another drama from KG which was unfolded by his man Kamal Thapa: Award to those who surrenders. See the amount Rs. 10 million. The amount is not even sufficient to one central level leader if the leader decides to surrender with his followers.
After all KG and MBs are two sides of a same coin. Both is making money. The recent episode of MBs also shows their top leaders wanted their family to have prosperous and peacefull life some where else. Let poor people die for their cause?
In 30 years of Panchayat rules no terrorism developed becuase the Panchayat did not loot the county as the 7 political parties did, the terrorist were fighting araint the corrupt politican they gained ground not the terrorist them self are corrup as the other politicain so they are just like any other politicains.
I very much agree with Blogwatch. Yes, King Gyanendra (I am not afraid to use his name) and the Maoists are the two sides of same coin. And yes, they are both benefitting from this war. The sufrerers are the people. Let us support the Civil Societies movement to restore peace.

why those stupid politicians and Maoists don’t understand that blockadge and Bandh is not going to solve any problem. Instead, they are making life of Neplease miserable.
The funny thing is that they claim Bandh was very successfull. They should realize that it is not that people are supporting them. They are afraid of their guns and bombs.
Maoists should understand that ‘what goes around, comes around’. What they are doing to people right now can happen to them if they cross the limit. Nepali people will surely awake someday and Babu Ram and so called ‘Prachand’ gonna face it. Same thing going to happen to Girija and other greedy politicians.
